Anton Große-Wentrup founded the company on the 1st October 1941 as a firm specialized for industrial plants in the mining industry. For many years the AGW, named after its founder, was a traditional small-scale business, until Dipl.-Ing. Clemens Recker and Hans-Jürgen Manke took over the management in the year 1992.
